An updated version of the greatest guitar pedal ever made during the greatest era of music ….Or at least the most INFAMOUS on both accounts!
The ProCo RAT has always been my favorite distortion hands down. Its just classic and the guitar sound I grew up with as a kid in the 80’s aspiring to be in a Rock Band.
Dimarzio made the Very Metal * for a very short time in the late 80’s and it's a really cool and unique one of a kind version of the circuit not currently available. Special thank you to my favorite YouTube show and Pedal company JHS for introducing us :) The Very Metal is VERY AWESOME however VERY expensive & VERY rare !I loved it so much I made one for my longtime friend and Quiet Riot guitarist Alex Grossi. He loved it & said I should make them but better! So the HaiR METAL was born……a MUST for lovers of the 80’s & Rat style distortion.

The HaiR Metal uses a dual op amp in lieu of the RAT style single op amp and JFET output stage. The IC socket will allow you to try different dual op amps. (My fav alt is used)
The Rat style Filter control is replaced by a Tone control wired like in your guitar sending higher frequencies to ground.
A Unique feature is the minimal Distortion setup like a famous “Nashville Rat Mod”
You get the ability to overdrive at very low gain for a “Smoother” Rat sound than in a standard RaT style circuit. …Its Awesome!
High quality Wima film & Nichicon Fine Gold electro caps (while avail) used with a custom designed pcb with Mask Audio Electronics. Heavy duty stomp switch with true bypass.
Can be powered by internal 9V battery or standard 9vDC wall wart Boss style center negative.

Growing up as kids playing in basements, churches, cafeterias, bars and parking lots we dreamed of playing arenas. Alex never stopped and he is probably playing an arena today ……Rock On Brother !m!
